In Queensland, a Roadworthy/Safety Certificate is required if you want to sell, register or transfer your vehicle.
Vehicles (such as heavy vehicles, licensed tow trucks, buses, taxis, limousines and booked hire vehicles) registered in Queensland may need to have a periodic or programmed inspection to check minimum vehicle safety standards.
It is a measure up and weight calculation for trailers (750kg ATM and over) and Trucks (4500kg GVM and over) before they are registered in Queensland.
You will need to take the HVRAS along with your safety Certificate/ Certificate of Inspection to register the vehicle.
A modification plate is needed when you’ve made aftermarket modifications to your vehicle that must be approved by an Approved Engineer in accordance with Queensland Department of Transport standards.
